Real Bass Tone
Voiced from the captures used on the records, not generic presets. The starting point already sits in a mix.
Drop it on a bass DI and it splits one signal into parallel studio-captured layers: sub, body, dirt, octave-up highs and room, blended back into one bigger instrument. Built from real Box of Rules captures. Free while it is in beta. The premium Box of Bass is free to trial until 1 October 2026.
Downloads always point at the newest build on github.com/boxofrules/bass-betterer, so there is never a stale link to chase. Free in beta — for any use, commercial productions included. The code is source-available (not open source): see the licence. If it earns a place on your tracks, throw a coffee in the tip jar.

One DI fans out into parallel layers, sub to octave-up highs, each owning its slice of the spectrum, then glued back into one instrument.
This one stays free in beta. The full premium rig, Box of Bass, is out now as a free trial until 1 October 2026.
1. Download the build for your platform above: macOS .dmg, Windows .exe, or Linux VST3 zip. 2. Run the installer, or drop the VST3 / AU into your plugins folder. 3. Rescan plugins in your DAW and load Bass Better-er on a bass DI track.
The macOS build is Developer ID signed and notarized by Apple, so it installs and opens with no Gatekeeper prompt. Windows is unsigned, so SmartScreen may warn — More info, then Run anyway. Full per-platform steps live in the repo README. Hit a snag? Open an issue.
